If a pilaster is a partial column, usually decorative mounted against a wall, what would the equivalent be called for a beam?
architecture car for your time

Lintel, or in some cases architrave.

That’s not an architecture car! That’s a Dymaxion. One of the many cars that were thought to possible change the word... Having been around it the Lane(the replica), it is huge. and stupid.

I always thought of lintels as being a structural item but it looks like it can be both.

how is it not an architecture car? It was designed by an architect. I’m guessing handling wasn;t its strong point

Literally the same thing, up against a wall, or just a non-structural beam in the middle of the room?
If the latter, I’d just say faux beams.
If the former, I think RamblinRover is right, though they both usually refer more to the headers of doorways than beams. Since you’re talking columns I’d go with architrave. Per google:
An architrave (/rktrev/; from Italian: architrave “chief beam”, also called an epistyle; from Greek epistylon “door frame”) is the lintel or beam that rests on the capitals of the columns. It is an architectural element in Classical architecture.

I thought those were little beans that made bad soup?

Yeah I’d go with architrave.

Mid engine, FWD, and rear steer. It killed 2 people. I guess it is kind of a architecture car but he designed it as a go anywhere, then fly anywhere car. It was for a purpose rather then just art is why I say that.

Oooooh! Right!

You have to build decorative frontispieces out of lintel beans, not lentils. Otherwise bean-based construction just doesn’t hold up.

You’re saying it doesn’t have a legume to stand on.

I wouldn’t put much stalk in its strength. No long term stamena.

Well that’s the root of the problem right there.

Can’t leaf out the correct ingredients and assume everything will be just vine. It’s bean a problem.
